Even though it’s just beginning to feel like summer around these parts, Kat and I have been off buying for our favorite season: Fall! This is the time I look forward to each year. Browsing through the Fall collections make me feel full of sprinkles and sunshine. Ha.
Last week we made another quick day trip to Chicago to do some buying. Despite getting lost a few times, we filled our bellies with the most amazing sushi, which totally made up for the labyrinth that is Chicago. Anywho, here are three quick shots of what is in store for y’all!
Nearly two years ago (wowza!) when we first opened, we had a rack designated as “Birdie’s Favorite’s.” These were pieces highlighted each week as our personal favorites. Seeing as how we have been getting loads of new arrivals and are busy fighting over our favorites, we decided to reintroduce the favorites rack.
We have already seen some of these pieces find forever homes so make sure to stop in (or call) soon!
Whew. We made it through Memorial Day Weekend without a hitch. Go LB!
This past week brought in a new shipment from Covet and my eyes immediately darted towards the My Tie Blouse. I. Am. Loving. It. I have dreaming about this piece ever since we saw it at Stylemax all those months ago. And now it has made itself a new home in my closet. Don’t worry, we still have some left for you!
Summer is upon us. I can feel it. Two good things about this. The first, being able to spend time outside with my baby bird has me feeling giddy. Second, it brings a load of new arrivals to LB! Today’s new arrival post is brought to you by the amazing Kain.
Not only is Kain reappearing here at LB so is Angeline! We love both of them so much. Here is Miss A in my most favorite striped dress ever:
A few weeks back LB received this little number from MinkPink. I have not taken mine off in that time. It has become my go to piece for all occasions. A day at work? Check. A weekend trip to FL for my little brother’s college graduation? Check. Running around town with my peanut? Check. Seriously. I have yet to come across a day’s worth of events that is not worthy of this lady.

Can’t believe my little brother is all grown up,
So, who all remembers the most amazing get-out-of-school day titled Take Your Daughter To Work Day? I do!
Growing up, this epic day was all about being included in another aspect of my mother’s life. Seeing her in her work environment and becoming a part of that was a huge deal for me. I loved witnessing the daily tasks of a working office. Over the years I spent these days in my mom’s office filing paperwork, making copies, running the mail and fulfilling any other errands that were sent my way. At the time it was merely just a day that I got to spend shadowing my mom at work. Now looking back, it is so much more.
Yesterday, my little peanut followed me to LB and I put her on the grind straight away. And by grind I mean laying out a blanket and allowing her to play with toys. Just wait my child, that’ll change as the years go by. I did allow her to assist me in some web work. Here she is schooling me in her photoshop skills:
Bookkeeping, taking phone calls and photoshop. All in a day’s work.
Hard at work editing.
She is also schooling me in the ways of fashion. Mixing prints at the ripe age of six months!
Don’t forget to check out our new arrivals from Kain and KLD!
A few weeks back Kat and our dear friend Sierra put together a new window display. Unfortunately, weather had not been cooperating with Kat to take photos of the masterpiece. Finally spring has sprung and I quickly decided to snap some shots before she leaves us again!
Here is our fair weathered fan of a window display. Ha!
All I wanna do is sit in the sun and sip on some ice tea!
As Kat explained, Sunday was the Elements Hair Runway Show that featured some LB clothes and accessories for stylist Colleen Dolehide. Colleen had six models to show off her skills. She did an amazing job.
We were able to snap some quick photos of them before the show. Aren’t they beautiful?
If you’d like to check out photos from the actual show, check out Digital Dubuque’s gallery. We had so much fun and many thanks to Colleen for asking us to participate!
