Take My Peanut to Work Day

So, who all remembers the most amazing get-out-of-school day titled Take Your Daughter To Work Day? I do!

Growing up, this epic day was all about being included in another aspect of my mother’s life. Seeing her in her work environment and becoming a part of that was a huge deal for me. I loved witnessing the daily tasks of a working office. Over the years I spent these days in my mom’s office filing paperwork, making copies, running the mail and fulfilling any other errands that were sent my way. At the time it was merely just a day that I got to spend shadowing my mom at work. Now looking back, it is so much more.

Yesterday, my little peanut followed me to LB and I put her on the grind straight away. And by grind I mean laying out a blanket and allowing her to play with toys. Just wait my child, that’ll change as the years go by. I did allow her to assist me in some web work. Here she is schooling me in her photoshop skills:

Bookkeeping, taking phone calls and photoshop. All in a day’s work.

Hard at work editing.

She is also schooling me in the ways of fashion. Mixing prints at the ripe age of six months!

Don’t forget to check out our new arrivals from Kain and KLD!

Hand Me My Fan

A few weeks back Kat and our dear friend Sierra put together a new window display. Unfortunately, weather had not been cooperating with Kat to take photos of the masterpiece. Finally spring has sprung and I quickly decided to snap some shots before she leaves us again!

Here is our fair weathered fan of a window display. Ha!

All I wanna do is sit in the sun and sip on some ice tea!

IOTW: Dip-Dyed Denim

My inner 90′s child is coming out full force with this new piece from MinkPink. Sleeveless dip-dyed denim is bringing me back to the days of scrunchies, crimped hair and stirrup leggings. Although those days are long behind us, we are loving this resurgence of 90′s styles from MinkPink. It is their niche after all.

Free shipping on this gem all week. Speaking of gems, feel free to break out your bedazzler on this one. Ha!

PBS kid,
Jenna

IOTW: Harla

The minute this dress made her appearance at LB, I was on it. Despite my (not-so) recent affinity for all things oversized, I needed to make this form fitting dress a part of my wardrobe.

She is currently on our homepage. Stay tuned to check out more pictures of her from the Elements Runway Show!

Free shipping on Harla until April 28th!

Sneak Peek: Fall

It feels like just yesterday Katherine and I were making the trip into Chicago. Last Monday had us making that familiar drive back into the city to do some buying for the fall season. Although the day was jam packed (as it always is) we ended the day feeling really good about what is in store for you all.

We were lucky to pick up three really great lines that we are incredibly excited about. The first, Olive & Oak, is Katherine and me to a tee. As much as we gush over Fluxus, we couldn’t have more positive things to say about this line. Comfort meets everyday chic. We can’t wait until these goodies arrive:

The second line, Jack, has an emphasis on jackets. Tailored, oversized, long, short, you name it, they got it. We were floored with all the varying styles and are over the moon about having them in LB. Below are two of Kat’s favorites:

The third line, Josie, is all about sweaters. Oversized, soft, comfy sweaters. We previewed these the last time around at Stylemax and couldn’t get them off our mind. We knew they would be perfect for LB.

As much as we both are in desperate need of the sun and warmer temps, we can’t wait for these fall pieces to start piling in. What do yo think of all the newbies making their way to LB?

Dreaming of fall,
Jenna

IOTW: Long Branch Ring

This past week we received a new shipment from Ornamental Things. Typically I am not a ring person, however, I am absolutely loving our new Long Branch Ring. I spotted it first thing yesterday and she hasn’t left my side. As you can see, we drank our morning coffee together. Well, I drank coffee and she looked pretty.

Free shipping on her all week long!

Channelling Someone Fabulous

Whenever a new shipment of Fluxus arrives, Kat and I go bonkers. It’s a like a cage match over who gets what piece. Things have gotten so out of hand that we now have to rotate who gets to pick first. For reals. Fluxus is that great. Everytime.

Another person who adores Fluxus? Kat’s stylish mother (my mother-in-law). When I arrived to work on Sunday I was flipping through the new pieces when I spotted the Mykala Cardigan. I immediately grabbed it, put it on and fell in love. I am imagining all the ways that I can wear this little goody. I informed Kat of my choice and how I styled it and her response was, “It sounds like something mom would put together.” After looking in the mirror, I saw how true that statement was.  Top bun and all. She is super savvy so I very much take it as a compliment.

Check out my Sunday (really any day of the week) workwear:

IOTW: Bow Tie Necklace

As you may recall, Kat has been having some fun experimenting with bow ties and collared blouses. Well, friends, she can now have some more fun with the Bow Tie Necklace from Gorjana. It gives any collared blouse that extra ounce of pep.

Free shipping all week!

We paired it with the Cut-Away Blouse, which is on sale for only $40. Get at it!

New Arrivals: Covet

Something happened recently and I am totally embarrassed by it, so why not share it here? When Kat and I are out doing shoots for this here blog I am never without my handy re-useable grocery bag stock full of shoes. You never know when you are going to need a shoe change to make an outfit work.

Well, a short while ago, my Mary Poppins bag of shoes vanished. Literally, up and gone. I typically leave it in my entry way so I can grab it and head out. I looked everywhere. Kat looked everywhere. I could not come to terms with losing an ENTIRE bag of SHOES. I was distraught. Erik thought I was blowing things out of proportion.

Low and behold, last week while at LB I receive a wonderful picture message from my sweet husband. Guess what was in the picture? My shoes! Gasp! Where were they? Apparently in my entryway. I think he hid them and then planted them out in the open to make me feel silly. Either way, they are back unharmed.

What does this have to do with new arrivals? Not whole lot. However, we just got in some fun, easy pieces from Covet that will fit effortlessly into your spring/summer wardrobe. Check out this breezy new blouse. Back pleats? Yes, please!

so dainty!

IOTW: Iliana

This past week brought in a breath of fresh spring air in the form of new bags from Melie Bianco! My favorite being Iliana in this amazing mint color. And no, not just because it was St. Patrick’s Day yesterday. This spring (if she ever truly comes) is all about the crispness that is mint! We also have Miss Iliana in a nude if you tend to stay neutral. Both equally wonderful and both shall ship to your home for free!

Here is Birdie showing her off:
