Warning: Folks, get used to seeing a lot more of just Kitty Kat on this blog because with Jbird being preggos and all, she’s not too keen on forcing LB clothes over her belly and posing this way + that. Can we really blame Jbird though? I suppose not. Though I also don’t blame you if you’re dying to see belly shots. Guess you’re just going to have to visit her at the shop!
More and more sweaters are piling into Ladybird. The Minnich Tunic is a gorgeous sweater. It has killer leather details and paired with the Morrigan Leggings you are bound to look and feel amazing. We are giving all of our love to Waverly Grey in this post.
Let’s hand Jenna the camera and get down to work. Well, before we do that let’s have her first do my hairs. I call this ‘do ‘the twist’:
But wait, I have an important question: does this outfit look cute when standing on a trailer?
Yep, I think so!
Look at the back detail on the leggings – simply gorgeous!

New homepage and item of the week time! Reds of many shades tend to be the trend this fall. Ladybird is jumping right on the red trend train with the Stella Dress. So let’s make it our Item of the Week! Free shipping on the Stella Dress.
The blood orange red is on fire and tastefully balanced in the print design. Stella can be worn with leggings, jeans, or alone as seen below:
Love for fall,
Say hello to Fall continuing to take over Ladybird! Move over summer dresses and tank tops and make room for sweaters, leggings, jackets, and autumn dresses!!
Yesterday evening, I picked my favorite sweater, the Lilliana Sweater, and proceeded to prance around Jenna’s backyard with her lil doggie Drake. There are several reasons why I love this sweater and recommend you here folks make this a staple fall piece in your wardrobe – now!
1. hello billowy sleeves – I never realized swinging my arms around and around could be so much fun
2. heather grey – goes well with everything in my closet, including my favorite Blank Denim jeans and boots
3. defies generations – I think this sweater would look great on a 20-some year old (ahem!) all the way up to a 60-some year old!
4. soft fabric – no surprise Jenna and I always go for soft fabrics. I literally feel like I’m wearing a blanket as a top…so soft and comfy…try your best to not hug me and stroke my back while I’m wearing this number!
Nothing beats a comfy sweater….nothing,
Is it just me or is anyone else anxiously awaiting the fall season? I decided the other day that summer just doesn’t suit me like spring and fall do. There is nothing like throwing on some skinnies, a chunky sweater and my go-to Golden Goose boots. We’ll see how this favorite outfit of mine weathers this year with little nugget taking up more and more room.
You know what else I love about fall? Homemade soup. I’ve already starting day dreaming about some of my favorites. Roaster Red Pepper and Tomato, Ale Cheddar, Creamy Mushroom, etc. Oh! I cannot forget Kat’s amazing butternut squash soup. I can taste it already. My apologies that my mind is preoccupied by all things food related right now.
Anywho, we recently received a spectacular shipment in from Gorjana. Guess who is making a triumphant return? Why, it’s the Graham Leather Studded Wrap! Only this time in the coveted fall jewel tones. Make sure to stop in soon and pick yours up. We have a feeling that these little bitties will find homes quickly.

I’m still thinking about ordering a burger for lunch…or maybe soup…hmmmmm….
I woke up the other morning with a bug up my butt. Not literally. I had two things on my mind.
(1) I knew right away I wanted to wear a vintage piece for the day. (2) I was dying to go shoe shopping.
After opening Ladybird last year, I put a lot of my vintage pieces away in storage. (I felt like it was necessary for the new chapter in my life). Well with that itching bug the other morning, I had to dive through bags of clothes in search of the perfect piece. I found it in this amazing jumper my friend Travis gave to me. Thoughts?
Aren’t my hairs getting long?! Welp, it was a lot of fun to strut around in this dottie jumper but one-pieces are a b**** when mother nature calls. Excuse my language. Still worth it though!
Jenna and I had a planned lunch date with my lovely cousin Courtney in Dubuque, IA. Before we ate, we hit up a super adorable bookstore downtown:
…where perhaps I was a little excited about my find:
Jenna contained her excitement for her book……..
Notice a few things in this photo? That’s right folks, Jenna is more than a few months pregnant and still fits in her Blank jeans!! What?!?!? Too bad you missed her hopping around doing her “I can still fit in my skinny jeans” dance!
Can we get a cute lean instead?
Thanks for the lean, Jenna and nugget!
And this is how awesome Jenna is: she headed back to Dubuque with me that night to go shoe-shopping. Maybe it’s time Ladybird sold shoes?!?
I found Waldo, and fell madly in love with him,
Is it just me or has the past week flown by? I swear it was just yesterday I woke up to the smell of coffee and bagels at my mamacita’s house. Along with our recent adventures of camping in Michigan and traveling to Madison, Kat and I just returned from yet another StyleMax in Chicago! And girl, did we get some goodies for you! This time we even had a special guest attend with us in the form of Kat’s mom. She looked extra stylish sporting her Ladybird pieces. It was great having another pair of eyes present. Kat and I do not always agree, so having Lynnette there was a great asset.
We arrived late Sunday night (after a stop at Culvers for some scrumptious ice cream) and headed straight to bed–well after some chatting and television watching. In the morning we headed to Dunkin’ Donuts for some coffee (decaf for me) and you guessed it, donuts. The rest of the day was booked with appointment after appointment. Fortunately, we made it to every one and not even a minute late! Go Team Birdie!
After we wrapped things up at SM, we wandered around Wicker Park awaiting the arrival of Kat’s fabulous friend, Travis. All four of us then made the walk to an amazing Thai restaurant where we quickly consumed our vegetable rolls. I noticed on the walk that Travis was carrying a wine bottle case. Apparently, a number of restaurants in Chicago are BYOB. How amazing is that? Although I am passing on wine at this time, it was a wonderful dinner date–and I’m referring to the company, not the concept of brought-in-wine. Kind of.
Alright, alright. I’ll stop blabbing and get to the sneak peek of what it’s store for you all come this holiday season!
Planning our next trip,
Hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend!! Jenna and I are off to Chicago for a much anticipated buying trip. It’s one of my favorite things to do for Ladybird; I love seeing the upcoming styles. Plus, now that we know exactly who our customers are we can buy with you folks in mind!
Check out our item of the week! She shows off the waist, fits as smooth as butter and is a quick outfit option for those hectic mornings. More than anything, she means business:
We will be closed on Monday and opening on Tuesday morning. Salut!
Much like Kat the weekend before, this past weekend it was my turn for a change of scenery. Last week I made the long journey up to Madison to visit with my Seattle bestie, Kayleigh. She was in town for a weekend wedding and I fulfilled the “plus one” on her invite. I know, the journey to Madison isn’t really long, however, this nugget makes an hour and a half car ride seem nearly impossible. Alas, I made it there safe and sound!
Although the majority of Saturday was spent celebrating a wedding, Friday was filled with some much needed girl time. Kayleigh and I met up with our other bestie, Kate, and her super cute daughter, Gigi. The day centered around belly laughs, a giggling baby, trips down memory lane, and of course food. For weeks I had been looking forward to one thing. Friday Night Fish Fry. That’s right folks. I can’t get enough of it and I haven’t quite found the perfect place around my new homestead. We dropped Miss Gigi off with her papa and ventured on over for some amazing beer battered fish. The best part? Hashbrowns with cheese and onions. Yum!
Is she not the cutest thing you ever did see? So smiley. All. The. Time.
Saturday was wedding day. The ceremony was beautiful, however, we had quite a break before heading to the reception. How could we ever fill the time? A run to Noodles and Starbucks was the perfect way to eat up some time. Here are Kayleigh and I all fancied up for the wedding awaiting our trip to Noodles.
Sunday wrapped up with an amazing lunch hosted by Kayleigh’s madre. This woman always outdoes herself when it comes to preparing a brunch/lunch/dinner. She is a seriously amazing cook. Kayleigh’s grill and sticky rice master dad also participates in the epic lunching.
After lunch we mostly sat around while Gigi entertained us with her smiles. We played baby Olympics (basically Gigi holding our fingers and walking). She’s currently in training for Rio 2016. When it was time to depart things got a little hairy. I may or may not have shed some serious tears. I had the most amazing weekend with the most amazing lady friends. I miss them terribly and am counting down the days until we are together again. Only next time, there will be a new addition.
Filled with happiness,
