Okay, at this point I’m sure you have all seen and/or heard about the infamous Tupac hologram. A lovely friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, was momentarily convinced that Tupac was not dead after all. Yes, that’s right. According to her, Tupac has been living incognito for the past 15 years and just decided on a whim to reintroduce himself to society. Please keep in mind that Tupac has not resurfaced and that my friend is quite simply a character.
Speaking of holograms, I have recently heard the rumblings that a certain 90′s r&b lady trio will be going this route as well for an upcoming tour. Yes, I am referring to TLC. Sit down folks, it’s time for a story. In elementary school my friends and I would pretend that we were Chili, Left Eye and T-Boz and rock out at our homes on the kitchen tables, on the playground at school, at the park, or even in our desks when the teacher’s back was turned. A friend of mine even got her mother to allow a T-Boz haircut. I had to settle with a drawing a thick line under my eye with my mother’s eyeliner. Sigh.
Along with my childhood love of TLC I have also always had a love for all things jackets and blazers. Typically, I always go with my trusty black blazer, however, this leather jacket may have changed my forever-go-to. The minute I slipped this on I was immediately brought back to the days of jamming out with my friends, screeching the lyrics to “Don’t Go Chasin’ Waterfalls.” Although this jacket is a bit more rock and roll than r&b, it all comes together in this crazy brain of mine. I attempted to recreate Chili’s classic look of loose curls, but I may just have to go back to the ol’ line drawing days.
Along with the amazingness of the leather jacket comes this [even more] amazing sparkly jacket. I’m not aware if Kat was as TLC obsessed as I was as a kiddo but, I think it’s pretty safe to assume she was. I absolutely love the way Kat paired the sassy sequins with a lightweight printed summer dress. Mixing sequins into your every day wardrobe is a really great and fun way to amp things up a bit. Amp? Perhaps Kat is channeling her inner r&b diva as well? She is kind of rocking a mash-up of T-Boz and Chili hair. I would like to think that this outfit is TLC approved. Seeing as how I am a self-appointed spokesperson for the former group, my verdict is yes!
